The second round for the 2010 Florida region SCCA rallycross championship has been scheduled for January 17, 2010. The event will be held at another new location, which is called Thundercross MX park.

The facility is only about 20 miles west of the St. Lucie County Fairgrounds. The Motocross track has a massive field which measures roughly 40 acres. That is a lot of room for us to layout a huge course. For reference the Homestead location is 20 acres and the St. Lucie fairgrounds space that we used was about 15 acres. Not only will there be a lot of seat time (estimating 3min) but it will also be very competitive because now there will be twice the amount of turns that could make or break your times. Even if you cannot enter the race you should come and hang out with us anyway. See you there.

The first ever SCCA Rally Cross at the the St. Lucie County Fairground was a big success. The surface was composed of 60/40 dirt to pavement making it a mix between an auto cross and a rally cross. The grip level was constantly changing forcing the competitors to stay focused as they switched from pavement to dirt and back. Ultimately, in the end competitors were left with huge smiles on there faces. We should all thank Tm Mincey Sr. and the family for all the effort they put in to make this event possible. This is a sport that runs solely on volunteers so it is important to help out all that you can and show your appreciation. The results can be found in the events section by clicking on the event. The name of the location is called L-Cross Extreme Events and is just NW of Lake Okeechobee. They are widely known for hosting big mud festivals, ATV, and moto racing. L-Cross is a huge motorsports park with something over 1200 acres and there are talks of letting us use 65 acres of that land for RallyX.We recently started to negotiate with them so it could be a few weeks to a  month before we get an official answer.  However, the plan is to run this event in early 2010.
